ADVOCACY PROGRAMME
The following are the two major components of the Advocacy programme:
FAMILY/CLIENT ADVOCACY:
Agency staff assist Counselling clients in obtaining a needed resource or service, or a concession from a disinterested, unresponsive or resistant system. This is a vital and essential element of counselling service.
SYSTEMS ADVOCACY:
Activities undertaken on behalf of a client group or a group of people to assist them in obtaining a needed resource/service/policy change from a disinterested/unresponsive/resistant system. Such actions may include collaborative activity with other organisations or groups in the community.
